Committee Members

Let us introduce ourselves!

This page gives you a bit of background on the members of the Cygnet Players committee, who run the society. We get together once a month to talk about what’s going on with Cygnets, and to make sure your society is being run in the best way possible. If you’ve got any comments or questions for the committee, then please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Sarah Prescott (Chairman)
Sarah has been a Cygnet since 2009 and is thrilled (and slightly terrified!) to have taken on the role of Chairman as of the October 2014 AGM. Countless years of list making, organisation and bossing people about are finally being put to good use! She has always enjoyed taking to the stage, and has just put in her eighth performance with Cygnets! Her day job in financial services (don't laugh!) pays the bills, but amdram is her passion, and she hopes to help this amazing society continue to thrive.

Katy Goddard (Deputy Chairman)
Katy has been part of the Cygnets gang since 2007 (gulp), the majority of which time she has spent on the committee! During the day she is a freelance Production Manager producing a range of TV shows for all sorts of channels, but in her free time as a stalwart Cygnet, Katy can often be found running box office, directing, assisting backstage and sometimes even performing! Cygnets are such a fabulous bunch of people and are a massive part of her London life!

Sally Reeve (Treasurer)
Sally joined Cygnets in 2010 for the production of The Wedding SingerShe has since appeared in City of Angels, Guys and Dolls, Footloose, Avenue Q, and Beauty and the Beast, as well as helping out technically for Stags and Hens and The Importance of Being Earnest. After much badgering, she finally gave in to being the Treasurer for Cygnets as being a Tax Adviser by day probably made her an obvious choice! She has loved every minute since becoming part of the committee though and hasn't regretted it yet!

Jamie Miller (Content Manager)
Jamie moved to south west London in May 2013, and very quickly became involved with Cygnets a few months later. Since then, she has appeared in Beauty and the Beast, Avenue Q and Parade, and is now a fully-fledged member of the committee. Jamie is thoroughly enjoying being part of the Cygnets family, and would recommend it to anyone who loves amdram as much as she does.  By complete contrast, during the day Jamie is a healthcare regulatory lawyer.

Charlotte Critchlow (Publicity Co-ordinator)
Charlotte joined Cygnets back in 2013 for their production of The Drowsy Chaperone and appeared in every subsequent musical, including the 2014 revival of Drowsy at the Edinburgh Fringe. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in 2015 who appeared twice on stage with Cygnets before he was even born in both Parade and The Witches of Eastwick. Since then she has slowed down on performing but can't bear to part ways with this fabulous company so continues to support Cygnets on the publicity team. Charlotte loves the welcoming and friendly nature of Cygnets and would encourage anyone and everyone to come and join the fun!

Alison Walters (Communications)
As a founder member of Cygnet Players, Alison has been performing with them since 1997, & has appeared in nearly 30 productions with the society. Favourite Cygnet roles include Widow Corney (Oliver!) & Madame Edith (‘Allo ‘Allo). She has always enjoyed being involved behind the scenes too, & in fact produced the first ever series of Cygnet newsletters (anyone remember the Cygnet Sentinel?!). Alison is immensely proud of Cygnets & its adventurous ethos. She was delighted when the company began to perform plays & is very happy it's continued to do so, allowing all members a chance to shine, & to really show off what a talented bunch of people we all are. When not occupied with things Cygnets (& sometimes when she is!), you'll find Alison following her other passion – rugby (@LiRFC #comeonyouirish).

Deborah Lowe (Social Media)

Deb's first production with Cygnets was The Drowsy Chaperone in 2013. Since then, she's been involved with many subsequent shows, including Beauty and the Beast, Avenue Q, and The Witches of Eastwick. She joined the committee in 2014 to work with Andrew on all things social - after all, a society's only as good as the opportunities it gives its members to have fun!!

Russell Hughes (PR & Digital)

Russell joined Cygnets in 2014 for Beauty and the Beast, and since appeared as a Bad Idea Bear in Avenue Q, Luther Rosser in Parade, Glenn Cooper in Rumours, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and also in our productions of Hairspray and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Adam Walker (Swans & Sponsorship)

After a brief break to get married, Adam realised he couldn't stay away from team Cygnets for too long, and has rejoined the committee, moving from socials to Swans and Sponsorship. He first joined the society to play Ren in Footloose, and since then has appeared on stage in numerous Cygnet shows, including playing Aldolpho in our Edinburgh Fringe production of The Drowsy Chaperone.

Phoebe Fleetham (Costume Co-ordinator)
Phoebe’s first production with Cygnets was The Witches of Eastwick, where she uttered a phase that will haunt her for ever, "Please let me know if I can be of any help with the costumes"... And here she is, some time later, still helping with the costumes, dying shorts red (Witches), sewing snaps in to men’s thongs (Full Monty), and teasing bee hives (Hairspray). While usually wielding a tape measure, she was also seen treading the boards as Cassie in our 2015 play, Rumours
Phoebe also directed our first Shakespeare play, A Midsummers Night Dream in 2016.

Lauren O'Mara (Marketing Co-ordinator)
By day Lauren works for a software company designed to make the running of theatres and arts organisations easier. She joined Cygnets in July 2015 for The Full Monty before then performing in Hairspray.  Having enjoyed meeting all the lovely Cygnets gang just as much as performing in the shows, she decided to join the committee in November 2016 and has very much loved her (relatively short) time being involved so far!

Lizzie Kempson (Social Events)
Lizzie joined Cygnet Players to play Pam in The Full Monty. She has recently returned to performing after a 10 year break and is loving being back on stage again and getting to be involved with such a friendly company such as Cygnet Players. She was thrilled to find such a professional company that are so welcoming to newcomers, and when the opportunity came up to join the committee she couldn't wait to be involved. By day, Lizzie is personal travel manager so when she is not on stage she will be found in some far off country sipping a cocktail on the beach.

Nino Stylianou (Assistant Social Events)
10 years and 8 shows after first performing with Cygnets, Nino is very excited to have finally joined the committee! His first ever show in the amdram world was with Cygnets (Oliver!) and he is therefore delighted to to be part of the committee as Cygnets basically introduced him to the world of musicals. Personal highlight is playing the dodgy Persian salesman in Oklahoma! Outside of doing shows (and playing rugby), Nino is following a career as an analyst within digital media.
